SENIOR BAZAAR A HIT!

On December 5th, 2024, the Fort McDowell Senior Center hosted a winter Senior Bazaar in which community members 55 and over set up shop in front of the center and sold homemade goods and food. The turnout of the event was spectacular and for those who arrived early, they were treated to some soul warming menudo, chocolatey brownies, and some hearty frybread and beans! All of which sold out only a mere half hour into the event!
The homemade items on sale were hand stitched blankets, shawls, artwork made from beads, camp dresses, beaded bracelets, and intricate paintings of crown dancers silhouetted against a blood red sky. The energy of the environment was very sociable. Community members greeted each other with smiles and handshakes as they all exchanged their admiration for each other’s work. All in all, the winter Senior Bazaar was a hit!
