LIBRARY HOSTS MOONLIGHT CINEMA

On October 29th, the Fort McDowell Tribal Library hosted a moonlight cinema event and screened the animated children’s horror movie Paranorman.

Young Norman Babcock has the ability to speak with the dead — and he often prefers their company to that of the living. Norman receives word from his strange Uncle Prenderghast that a centuries-old witch’s curse on their town is real and about to come true — and that only Norman can stop it. When zombies rise from their graves, Norman must summon all his courage and compassion and push his paranormal abilities to the limit to save his fellow townspeople.

Volunteer audio visual technician Gary Roy set up a projector, screen and a series of speakers for the 25 attendees in the courtyard of the library. As soon as the sun set behind the McDowell Mountains, the movie began much to the delight of the young audience members. Fresh popcorn, various sodas and Twizzlers were offered as concessions for the viewers. All in all, it was a terrifically spooky evening that was enjoyed by all!
