CELEBRATING ADMINSTRATIVE PROFESSIONAL’S DAY

On April 23, 2025, the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation Government honored Administrative Professionals Day by inviting all administrative professionals to the Recreation Center for a special celebration recognizing their dedication and hard work—the very efforts that keep the gears of the government turning smoothly.
First established in 1952, Administrative Professionals Day pays tribute to the invaluable contributions of secretaries, administrative assistants, and other office staff who serve as the backbone of organizations across the country.
To kick off the celebration, attendees were divided into six spirited teams with clever names: The Office Ninjas, The Miracle Workers, The Undercover Bosses, The Chaos Coordinators, The Real Problem Solvers, and The Office Fairies. Icebreaker games got everyone mingling and laughing. In one activity, participants roamed the room with a questionnaire in hand, searching for colleagues who matched quirky prompts like: “Are you a sleep-in person?”, “Has more than five siblings,” or “Shares your birthday month.” Another game challenged teamwork and communication, with participants sitting back-to-back as one described a mystery image while the other attempted to draw it sight unseen.
Then, the competition kicked into high gear. A lively game of Jeopardy tested knowledge in categories ranging from Yavapai culture and FMYN government to office trivia and Administrative Professionals Day facts. The final challenge put a playful twist on Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes, with participants racing to grab a stapler from the floor—a perfect nod to the daily tools of their trade. The celebration concluded with a delicious catered lunch from Olive Garden, generously provided by the Tribal Council in gratitude for the commitment of these essential team members.
With over three million administrative professionals in the U.S. workforce, this day was a meaningful opportunity to spotlight the unsung heroes of the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation. Their dedication, efficiency, and behind-the-scenes efforts make a lasting impact every day. To all our administrative professionals—thank you for your continued service to FMYN and its people.
