MIDWESTERN UNIVERSITY’S SPAY & NEUTER CLINIC

On October 16, 2025, Midwestern University held a successful spay and neuter clinic at the Fort McDowell Public Safety Building.

Midwestern University, based in Glendale, Arizona, offers a wide range of specialties, including a traveling animal sterilization clinic. The clinic is staffed by experienced clinical faculty who work alongside graduate-level students to provide spay and neuter services to communities across the state. In addition to surgeries, staff also administered vaccinations, medications, and basic health evaluations.

For the past several years, the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation has been able to utilize these services about twice a year. While the clinic is limited in the number and size of animal surgeries it can perform at each location, the team successfully provided sterilizations for nine dogs and four cats during this visit. These services are offered to the Nation at no cost, thanks to grants received by the University.

Midwestern University is scheduled to return to the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation in the summer of 2026. Be on the lookout for their next visit so you can bring your furry companions in for some much-needed care.
