CHURCH OF ST. ANTHONY ON THE DESERT DONATES SCHOOL SUPPLIES TO FMYN STUDENTS
By Harrison J. Bahe
On August 26, 2026, the Church of Saint Anthony on the Desert, in collaboration with its Native American Ministries, donated school supplies to students of the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation.
Located near the intersection of Shea Boulevard and 130th Street in Scottsdale, Arizona, the Church of Saint Anthony on the Desert has continued its tradition of supporting the Nation’s students. This marks the fourth consecutive year that the church has donated school supplies to the community.
The donated supplies included pencils, pens, erasers, notebooks, crayons, glue, backpacks, and other essential items to help students prepare for the new school year. The supplies were generously donated by parishioners of the church and, with assistance from several students from the Nation, were delivered to Fort McDowell.
Representing the Church of Saint Anthony on the Desert during the delivery were Holly Herring, Vicki and Jerry Howell, Wendy Weston, Rosemary Vietes, Joe Deerborn, and Dina Lopez.
The students and their families extend their warmest thanks to the Church of Saint Anthony on the Desert and its parishioners for their continued generosity and support. These supplies will undoubtedly be put to good use by students throughout their day-to-day classes during the 2026–2027 school year.
